Welcome Letter

We strive to create a fun and engaging environment for skaters of all ages and abilities. Our program is facilitated by certified Learn to Skate (LTS) instructors and qualified United States Figure Skating (USFS) coaches.

Here’s more important information about our program:

  • The ice arena is cold.  We recommend wearing a coat, long pants/snowpants, and mittens or gloves.

  • If this is your very first time skating, please wear skates with toe picks (no hockey skates). Hockey skates tend to slip when the skater tries to stand up on the ice. Once skaters are comfortable skating, if they want to transition to hockey skates, this is great. Please speak to the LTS Director if you have questions.

  • Skaters in Snowplow Sam classes (ages 3-5 years) are required to always wear a helmet in class. A bike helmet is fine.  Helmets are also encouraged for skaters ages 12 and under in Basic 1 class. If you wear hockey skates, please wear a hockey helmet with a cage.

  • Only those registered for LTS classes are allowed on the ice during class.

  • Parents/grandparents/guardians are not allowed on the ice in shoes.  Failure to comply may result in removal from the program.

  • Parents/grandparents/guardians may sit in the stands to watch class.  No one is allowed in the player boxes.

  • LTS Classes are $20.00 each.  It is always cheaper per class to register for an entire LTS class series.

  • Annual LTS Membership fee is $24.00/skater. This yearly membership is required for everyone participating in the LTS Program. Membership period is from July 1 – June 30.

  • Member Ice is available for skaters with a LTS and/or USFS Membership (ICEFSC included). Cost is $16.00/$12.00/$25.00 per session for each skater and can be paid for in the concession area.

  • Member Ice can be used for independent practice, private, semi-private, or small group lessons with a coach.

For any questions/concerns about our program please contact the LTS Director, Cindy Eckert.

Thank you!
