PICKARD POWER SKATING
A former national-level skating competitor representing Canada and longtime power skating instructor, Nancy Pickard and Pickard Power Skating brings decades of experience developing stronger, faster and more efficient skaters.
Pickard Power Skating focuses on the fundamentals that translate directly to better performance on the ice, including stride mechanics, body position, edge control, skating efficiency, starts and stops, crossovers, turns and pivots, quickness, agility and explosive speed.
Whether you're looking to become a more powerful hockey player or simply a stronger overall skater, this is an opportunity to learn from one of the Flint area's most experienced skating instructors.

ED JOHNSON GOALTENDING
Ed Johnson Goaltending brings specialized goaltending instruction to 810 Sports with training designed specifically around the unique demands of the position.
Ed and the Johnson Goaltending staff work with goalies ranging from beginners learning the position to experienced competitive players, providing individualized instruction focused on technique, movement, positioning, consistency, confidence and overall development.
Expect plenty of reps, detailed instruction and a training environment built specifically for goaltenders.
One position. One hour. All goalie development.

FEATURING KEVIN POINT & CINDY ECKERT
KEVIN POIT brings more than 30 years of coaching experience spanning the United States and New Zealand. His skaters have included national champions in Free Skate, Dance and Pairs as well as U.S. national competitors.
Kevin is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Test Medalist in Figures, Free Skate, Moves in the Field, Pairs, Dance and Free Dance, a Canadian Gold Medalist in Dance and a former national-level pair skater. His career has also included four years performing professionally with Ice Capades and international experience as a coach, technical specialist and team leader.
A longtime member of the local skating community and Iceland Competitive Edge Figure Skating Club, Kevin brings an exceptional depth of technical knowledge and experience to the ice.
CINDY ECKERT is a longtime skating instructor and the Learn to Skate Director at 810 Sports Complex. A former competitive skater representing Detroit Skating Club, Cindy competed through the senior adult level and has spent years helping skaters build the fundamentals necessary to progress in the sport.
Together, Kevin and Cindy provide skaters with focused instruction designed to improve technique, strengthen fundamentals and develop the confidence and control needed to continue progressing.

ABOUT THE RACE
HURDLING ORIGINATED IN ENGLAND IN THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY, THE RUNNERS RACE OVER A SERIES OF OBSTACLES CALLED HURDLES, WHICH ARE SET A FIXED DISTANCE APART.
RUNNERS MUST REMAIN IN ASSIGNED LANES THROUGHOUT A RACE, AND, ALTHOUGH THEY MAY KNOCK HURDLES DOWN WHILE RUNNING OVER THEM, A RUNNER WHO TRAILS A FOOT OR LEG ALONGSIDE A HURDLE OR KNOCKS IT DOWN WITH A HAND IS DISQUALIFIED. THE FIRST HURDLER TO COMPLETE THE COURSE IS THE WINNER.
