What is Stick N Puck?
Stick N Puck is an open-ice session designed for individual hockey players of all ages and skill levels to practice on their own. It’s not a game or scrimmage like drop-in hockey, but rather unstructured ice time where you can work on your skills at your own pace.
Typical Activities During Stick N Puck-
Practicing skating, stickhandling, and passing
-
Working on shooting accuracy and power
-
Skating drills (edges, stops, crossovers, etc.)
-
Parent/child practice sessions

-
Players bring their own pucks and gear
-
What is Drop-In Hockey?
Drop-In Hockey is an open-ice session for players who want to scrimmage in a pick-up game format. It’s less formal than league play but still fast-paced and competitive, making it great for players who want extra ice time without committing to a team.
What to Expect-
Players divide into teams on the spot
-
Full-ice scrimmages, usually with line changes
-
No refs — it’s self-officiated, so good sportsmanship is important
-
Typically 60–90 minutes of play
Rules & Requirements
-
Full equipment required (helmet, pads, stick, gloves, skates, etc.)
-
Goalies usually play for free
-
Must be a capable skater (not for beginners)
Why It’s Great
-
Competitive, game-like atmosphere without league commitment
-
Perfect for staying in game shape and improving team play
-
Great way to meet other local players
-
What is 55 & Up Hockey?
55 & Up Hockey is a specialized drop-in style session for older adult players who want to stay active and enjoy the game at a fun, competitive but lower-intensity pace. It’s all about keeping the love of hockey alive while making it safe, social, and enjoyable for skaters in their 50s, 60s, and beyond.
What to Expect-
Pick-up hockey games with players age 55+
-
A more relaxed pace than standard drop-in sessions
-
Emphasis on camaraderie, teamwork, and staying active
-
Usually self-organized lines and substitutions
Rules & Requirements
-
Full gear required (just like drop-in hockey)
-
No body checking — focus is on clean, safe play
-
Goalies encouraged to join (often play for free)
-
Typical session: 60–90 minutes
Why It’s Great
-

-
Lower-intensity games reduce injury risk
